Money Matters

Money is important. As hard it is for some people to admit it;
that it is true and so you need to deal with it. It is said that
money meets all needs and rightly so. Everything you have
from the house you live to the book you are reading now was
one way or the other brought about by money.

Sadly, though, a lot of people have a negative attitude towards
money, mainly because they were fed with lies of all sort
about money when they were growing up, which, unfortunately, they carried along into adulthood and eventually old age.
This attitude towards money has robbed them of the joy of
making, having and spending money. I have dedicated this part
of the book to busting these myths about money and restoring
the entire truth about it that you and I were denied. Consider
some of them:

MYTH 1. THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF
ALL EVIL

This is not entirely true. The love of money in itself cannot be
good or evil. It is what you decide to do with the love that is
good or evil. You see, money is merely a tool that helps accomplish things. A sharp knife in the hands of a skilled chef is a valuable tool. Yet the same knife in the hands of a child is a dangerous tool. It is not the knife that is evil or good, it is how the individual uses it.

However, you cannot get what you hate. If you do not love
money and commit to it like you would a married mate, you
cannot have it. The funny thing is that it is only poor people
who propagate this lie. The fact is money only makes you
more of what you are already.

Besides, I believe love can be classified into two broad groups.
One is emotional and so stems from the heart. The other although not without emotion, stems from both the heart and
the mind and is based on reason.

To love money requires that you use the love based on reason.
That means you choose to love money, but you are not emotionally dependent on it. Your life will be ok, and you will be happy whether you have it or not. After all, happiness as I said earlier, is mental, even though it has an emotional component to it. Remember; your mind controls your feelings.
